Thinking about my work as a somewhat 3 dimensional object/composition that I want to make into a 2 dimensional object, I have gained some insight and inspiration from two artists working similarly: Brandon Juhasz and Kate Stone. The above image is from Kate Stone's series "At the Seams". Both use photographs to construct 3 dimensional objects and then photograph the constructions; however, Stone uses her own photographs while Juhasz uses found photographs. Nevertheless, they both make statements about what reality is. Unlike Stone, Juhasz does so in an attempt to also question the medium of photography and point out how images mold our desires and standards. In much the same way as Stone and Juhasz I want to start making my collages a completely 3 dimensional object to be re-photographed in order to fully realize my "play things" I have been constructing and to question our desires for these images.
